New Systems - Considerations

Irrigation pipe laid to close to growing plant

Silly things I saw while repairing irrigation systems

Most weeks I repair irrigation system where what could have been a simple maintenance  job is made much more difficult and expensive because of very minor decisions during the original installation.

Think About Plant Growth When installing Irrigation

Irrigation pipe laid to close to growing plant

Dripper line installed to close to growing sapling

This irrigation line and line of trees have only been here a couple of years and already you can see the growing trunk is putting pressure on the pipe.  I would guess within another 2 to 3 years the tree growth will restrict the pipe to the point that water doesn't flow through it to reach trees further up the line.   On top of this the pipe is buried under the grass (except here where I dug it up).  This means you will only  be able to see where tree growth along this 100 meter line of trees has restricted the pipe with great difficult and risk of damaging pipe in proccess of digging it up.

Don't install valves and Feeder Pipe next to growing trees

The growth of this tree has restricted the pipes of the system under the concrete requiring a total

Small decisions like this at installation cost thousands of dollars down the line.
